According to a report by Vietnam’s “Customs News” on January 11, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that Vietnam’s textile exports in 2014 were US$24.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19%. Among them, the United States is the largest export market, with an export value of US$9.8 billion, an increase of 12.6%; the European Union is the second largest export market, with an export value of US$3.4 billion, an increase of 17%; Japan is the third largest export market, with an export value of 2.7 billion US dollars, an increase of 7%; South Korea is the fourth largest export market, with exports of US$2.4 billion, an increase of 27%.
According to reports, Vietnam imported US$15.8 billion of textile raw materials and auxiliary materials in 2014, a year-on-year increase of 16%. Among them, the raw and auxiliary materials used for export processing are about 12.8 billion US dollars. Vietnam’s textile exports are expected to be US$28-28.5 billion in 2015, an increase of 15.9%.
