According to statistics, India exported 100,800 tons of yarn in October 2014, a decrease from 118,700 tons in October 2013. The exports were mainly to China (42.6%) and Bangladesh (14.9%). In that month, 1,176 tons of yarn were imported, a significant increase from 604 tons in October 2013.
In October 2014, India registered 100,800 tons of cotton yarn exports, a year-on-year decrease of 19.91% and a month-on-month increase of 2.84%. The export volume increased by 2,800 tons from the previous month. This was the first consecutive month since the 2014/15 fiscal year (2014.4-2014.10). The export volume exceeds 100,000 tons.
In the 2014/15 fiscal year (2014.4-2014.10), India exported a total of 667,500 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year decrease of 19.44%.
