It was 3.16 US dollars/kg in August, and dropped to 3.06 US dollars/kg in September. The monthly unit price hit a new low of US$3.01/kg, down 7.4% year-on-year.

From January to October, my country’s cotton yarn imports from India accounted for 26.4% of total imports, which was 433,000 tons, down 16%; the average import price was US$3.08/kg, down 5.2% year-on-year. 405,000 tons of cotton yarn were imported from Pakistan, accounting for 24.7%, a year-on-year decrease of 22%; the average import price was US$2.78/kg, a decrease of 5.3%. Vietnam ranked third, with an import volume of 318,000 tons, accounting for 19.4%. The proportion further increased, and the growth momentum was considerable. In the first 10 months, it increased by 53.2% year-on-year. The average import price was US$3.22/kg, down 8.8% year-on-year.
Among the remaining top ten import source countries, Uzbekistan has the fastest growth, with an increase of 60.1%, and the import volume is 57,000 tons; Indonesia has an increase of 38.2%, with an import volume of 76,000 tons. Imports from the United States, South Korea, and Thailand all showed negative growth, with import quantities of 29,000 tons, 28,000 tons, and 32,000 tons respectively.
3. From January to October, the import volume of cotton yarn in the six major provinces and cities exceeded 100,000 tons.
From January to October, six major provinces and cities imported more than 100,000 tons of cotton yarn. Guangdong imported 458,000 tons, accounting for 27.9%, down 17.4% year-on-year. The import unit price was US$3.48/kg; Zhejiang imported 287,000 tons, an increase of 0.3 %, the import price was US$2.95/kg; Beijing imported 231,000 tons, a decrease of 26.5%, and the import price was US$2.89/kg. Imports from Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Shandong were 183,000 tons, 134,000 tons, and 136,000 tons respectively. Fujian’s imports fell by 1.8% year-on-year, while Anhui, Xinjiang, and Tianjin increased by 45%, 60.7%, and 68.1% respectively.
The quantity of cotton yarn imported through general trade was 1.194 million tons, accounting for 72.7%, down 3.1% year-on-year, totaling US$3.5 billion; supplemented by processing trade, the import volume was 424,000 tons, accounting for 25.8%, of which 39.9% was processed with imported materials.
