According to a report by Bangladesh’s “Daily Star” on March 27, the world’s major automotive suppliers favor the use of natural fibers to manufacture car interiors. Bangladesh supplies almost all jute fibers required for high-end cars. The global automotive industry requires approximately 100,000 tons of jute every year, of which 12,000 tons come from Bangladesh. The demand for jute fiber in automobile interiors of global brands will help diversify Bangladesh’s jute products. Bangladesh is expected to export US$5-7 billion of jute and jute products annually in the future. (Title: High-end car interiors favor the use of jute fiber)
