How many years have you been working in the industry? What does this industry look like to you?
Tang Lin: I graduated from Suzhou Silk Institute of Technology in 1983 and have been here for 38 years. I believe that silk has always been my country’s traditional national characteristic industry, a cultural industry with a long history of more than 5,000 years, and a meritorious industry that once earned foreign exchange for the country’s export. There are not many advantageous industries that have dominated the world for a long time. They are important livelihood industries that are closely related to the beautification of people’s lives. They are also known as the “Queen of Fibers” and are fashion industries that lead the international trend.

What has impressed you most over the years?
Tang Lin: The establishment of the National Cocoon and Silk Office marks an important breakthrough in the industry management system reform, which also fully demonstrates the deep love of our party and the country for the industry. and support. Over the years, practice has proven that the National Cocoon and Silk Industry Office, as the industry authority, has played an extremely important role in strengthening industry macro-control and maintaining the stable and healthy development of the industry.

How has the industry changed from when you first entered it? How do you feel?
Tang Lin: In the past 40 years, with the steady development of the domestic economy, the silk industry has also undergone earth-shaking changes. During this period, the industry has experienced the glorious period of rapid expansion in the 1980s and the painful period of economic system reform in the 1990s. , a period of vigorous development of the market economy since 2000. What I feel most about these changes is that despite the ups and downs, the industry has always had strong resilience and vitality. This is also the fundamental reason why the silk industry has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years and remains innovative.

What do you think is the most prominent problem in the industry now?
