Vietnam imports cotton. 10,000 tons

In September 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports amounted to US$1.942 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17.13% and a month-on-month decrease of 9.42%. Textile and apparel exports are expected to reach US$2.1 billion in October 2014.
From January to September 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$15.709 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18.49%.
In September 2014, Vietnam imported 75,000 tons of cotton, a year-on-year increase of 56.25%; imported 63,000 tons of yarn, a year-on-year increase of 14.55%; and imported fabrics of US$757 million, a year-on-year increase of 14.35%. It is estimated that in October, 75,000 tons of cotton will be imported, 65,000 tons of yarn will be imported, and fabric imports will be US$860 million.
From January to September 2014, Vietnam imported 568,000 tons of cotton, a year-on-year increase of 30.88%; imported yarn 548,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.87%; imported fabrics of US$6.93 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.24%.
