According to a report by Saigon Economic Times on October 2, Huang Weiyong, deputy general manager of Vietnam Textile Group (Vinatex), said that in 2014, the overall market will still face difficulties, but domestic sales revenue of textiles is expected to grow by 10-15%. It is estimated that the domestic sales revenue of Vietnam Textile Group in 2014 will be approximately 22 trillion dong (approximately US$1 billion), accounting for 30% of the domestic market share.
According to reports, currently, 20-25% of the products in Vietnam’s textile industry are sold domestically, and the rest are exported. According to data from the General Administration of Statistics, in August, Vietnam’s domestic textile sales revenue was approximately 9.5 trillion dong (approximately US$45 million), a month-on-month increase of 2.1%.
