On September 12, 2014, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on the Chinese-made “QiFeng” brand children’s jumpsuits. The notifying country in this case is Hungary. The children’s jumpsuit is blue with a zipper, a removable upper jacket and “Sports” printed on the garment. The style/model of the children’s jumpsuit is G1027C, and the OECD Portal Category is 67000000 (clothing).
This children’s jumpsuit may pose a suffocation hazard to children. The jumpsuit has an elastic drawstring at the waist that could get caught on a child’s neck when worn, posing a choking hazard. This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN14682.
At present, the Hungarian authorities have taken compulsory measures to withdraw from the market and recall the above-mentioned products.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
