Cotton imports from Guangdong decreased by .% year-on-year in the first half

According to customs statistics, Guangdong Province imported 20,000 tons of cotton in the first half of 2014, a decrease of 70.6% compared with the same period last year; the value was 250 million yuan, a decrease of 70% compared with the same period last year; the average import price was 13,000 yuan per ton, an increase of 1.7% compared with the same period last year .
Since the beginning of this year, Guangdong Province’s monthly cotton imports have continued to decline. Except for February, the declines in all other months have exceeded 40%, with the decline in March being as high as 89.5%. In the first half of the year, Guangdong Province imported 14,000 tons of cotton through processing trade, a year-on-year decrease of 63%, accounting for 73.3% of the province’s total cotton imports during the same period; during the same period, 2,121 tons were imported through general trade, a year-on-year decrease of 87.5%; bonded supervision The import of inbound and outbound goods at the site was 1,799 tons, a decrease of 64.3%.
The United States and India are the main import sources. In the first half of the year, Guangdong Province imported 8,891 tons of cotton from the United States, a year-on-year decrease of 69.4%; it imported 6,744 tons of cotton from India, a year-on-year decrease of 63.9%.
