According to statistics, from January to June, Jiangyin exported a total of 277 batches of wool, 1,970 tons, with a value of US$28.29 million. Among them, a designated wool processing enterprise in Jiangyin exported to Egypt for the first time. From January to June, the fine wool products exported to Egypt have totaled 11 batches and 72 tons, with a value of US$346,000.
It is understood that in recent years, affected by the economic environment at home and abroad, the wool spinning industry has faced many unfavorable factors such as declining business volume and rising costs. The export volume of wool products such as wool strips and fine short wool in Jiangyin has also shown a downward trend. In order to better develop the market and adapt to environmental changes, at the beginning of this year, a designated wool processing enterprise in Jiangyin sought to export fine short wool to Egypt.
After Jiangyin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau learned of this situation, it promptly provided guidance to the enterprise and strictly followed the requirements of the “Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine Law”, the China-Egypt bilateral agreement and relevant regulatory documents, on fine short wool products exported to Egypt. Implement animal quarantine and pre-shipment inspection, while optimizing the inspection process, further shortening the inspection time, and issuing certificates in a timely manner to ensure smooth customs clearance of products. From January to June this year, the company’s fine short wool products exported to Egypt have totaled 11 batches, 72 tons, and a value of US$346,000. (
