Ho Chi Minh City vigorously attracts large-scale foreign investment in textile projects

“Vietnam News” reported that in the first half of this year, Ho Chi Minh City’s industrial parks and export processing zones attracted US$333 million in investment, a year-on-year increase of 55%. Among them, foreign direct investment amounted to US$265 million, a year-on-year increase of 80%.
In the first half of the year, Ho Chi Minh City’s textile and garment industry absorbed US$200 million in investment, accounting for 82% of the city’s foreign investment. It is particularly worth mentioning that Shitong (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. invested US$140 million to build a textile factory in Southeast Industrial Park in Ho Chi Minh City, and Xue Changxing (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. invested US$50 million to build a fabric and clothing production plant. In the first half of the year, Vietnamese domestic enterprises invested US$68.8 million in Ho Chi Minh City, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%.
