In 2013, the national inspection and quarantine agencies accepted a total of 57,793 batches of imported clothing inspections, a year-on-year increase of 22.08%, of which more than 50% of imported clothing was imported from Shanghai Port, and other major import ports include Beijing, Shenzhen, etc. In 2013, the national inspection and quarantine agencies randomly inspected 22,472 batches of imported clothing, with a sampling rate of 38.88%; 1,859 batches of unqualified goods were found to be unqualified for quality and safety items, with a failure rate of 8.27%. The main reasons for unqualification are color fastness, fiber content and pH value, formaldehyde content, and unqualified decomposable aromatic amine dyes. Products with unqualified Chinese logos and labels and unqualified fiber content can be imported after passing the rectification. Products that fail to meet safety, health and environmental protection projects will be returned or destroyed. In the white paper, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine conducted an in-depth analysis of the reasons for the failure of imported clothing and put forward corresponding opinions and suggestions to better protect the health and safety of domestic consumers.
