A Mumbai trader said: “With the uncertainty of business conditions, buyers are still cautious, and good demand is not expected until after Ramadan.” The market expects textile activities to increase after Ramadan, due to the textile industry in Maharashtra and other states. There are many Muslim workers.
Mumbai 60 count carded warp and weft yarn are trading at Rs 1550-1580 and Rs 1435-1460 per 5 kg. The price of 60-count combed warp yarn is 350-353 rupees per kg, the 80-count carded weft yarn is priced at 1460-1500 rupees per 4.5 kg, the 44/46-count carded weft yarn is priced at 280-285 rupees per kg, and the 40/41-count carded weft yarn is priced at Rs. The selling price is 272-276 rupees per kilogram, and the price of 40/41 combed weft yarn is 294-307 rupees per kilogram.
Tirubu faces mediocre demand from downstream industries, and weak demand has caused cotton yarn prices to fall by 3-5 rupees per kilogram. Textile mills did not cut prices initially, but stockists and traders offered lower prices due to poor demand from downstream industries. Buyers are not interested in stocking up and are only purchasing cotton yarn for immediate needs.
The transaction price of 30-count combed yarn in Tirupur is 278-282 rupees per kilogram, 34-count combed yarn is 288-292 rupees per kilogram, and the 40-count combed yarn is priced at 278-282 rupees per kilogram. Rs 305-310 per kg. 30 count carded yarn is sold at Rs 250-255 per kg. 34-count carded yarn is quoted at 255-260 rupees per kilogram, and 40-count carded yarn is quoted at 265-270 rupees per kilogram.
Kupang Cotton prices rose due to regular purchases from textile mills, traders said, as the cotton arrival season ends and textile mills seek to increase longer-term stocks. Cotton prices were quoted at 62,700-63,200 rupees per kandy, an increase of 200 rupees per kandy compared with the previous year. The arrival volume of cotton in Kupang is 30,000 bales (170 kg/bag), and the arrival volume in India is estimated to be about 115,000 bales.
