Nantong’s textile foreign trade increased by .% year-on-year

On June 19, the Nantong Municipal Commerce Bureau of Jiangsu Province released data showing that from January to May, Nantong’s total foreign trade import and export value was US$13.49 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%. The growth rate is 14 percentage points higher than that of the whole province and 19.9 percentage points nationwide, and it continues to rank first among the top five foreign trade cities in Jiangsu Province.
Nantong’s traditional pillar industries – textiles, clothing and home textile products are gradually entering the peak season, and exports are in good shape. In May, textile and clothing products exported US$650 million, a year-on-year increase of 30.4%. Enterprises such as Taimushi Clothing, Qianse Fashion, Jinfeixiang Fashion, Hengkang Sponge, Lianfa Printing and Dyeing, and Violet Home Textiles all maintained steady and rapid growth this month.
Zhou Cheng, director of the Foreign Trade Department of the Nantong Municipal Bureau of Commerce, said: “The global economy is gradually recovering, but not at a fast pace. In the first five months, the province’s and the country’s total import and export value increased by 6.1% and 0.2% respectively, and Nantong was able to achieve The good results are mainly due to the favorable conditions of the industry.”
