On June 3, 2014, Indonesia made a final ruling on safeguard measures against imported yarns (except sewing threads) and levied a safeguard tax on the products involved for a period of three years. The tax rates are as follows: (1) Year 1 (2014) From June 4 to June 5, 2015), an additional safeguard tax of 28,065 rupees/kg will be levied; (2) In the second year (from June 4, 2015 to June 5, 2016), an additional rupees of 25,522 rupees/kg will be levied safeguard tax; (3) In the third year (June 4, 2016 – June 5, 2017), a safeguard tax of 22,979 rupees/kg will be levied. 112 developing countries (regions) including Macau, China and Malaysia are excluded from the above measures. The customs codes of the products involved are 5205 and 5206.
In January 2014, Indonesia launched a safeguard investigation on imported yarn (except sewing thread).
