On May 27, the Peruvian Institute of Fair Competition and Intellectual Property Protection (INDECOPI) made a decision to cancel anti-dumping tax measures on cotton and polyester-cotton blended fabrics from China, including cotton or cotton-polyester blended gray fabrics, bleached and Dyed, imported fabrics of carded cotton or uncarded cotton weighing more than 170 g/m2. This resolution takes effect from June 5, 2014.
The anti-dumping investigation was filed by the secret company Tejidos San Jacinto S.A. in 2004. INDECOPI made a ruling to impose anti-dumping duties for five years on November 11, 2005, and decided to maintain the three-year measure on June 4, 2011. After the expiration, because no Peruvian company applied for review within the specified time, the Bureau finally ruled to formally stop imposing anti-dumping duties on the product in accordance with relevant Peruvian laws.
