U.S. imports of Chinese textiles and apparel increased by .% year-on-year

In April 2014, the total value of textile and apparel imports into the United States was US$8.054 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.33% and a month-on-month increase of 4.61%. Among them, textile and clothing imports from China were US$2.71 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.62%, a month-on-month increase of 26.14%, accounting for 33.65% of the total import share of the United States, an increase of 5.73 percentage points from the previous month; textile and clothing imports from Vietnam were US$741 million, a year-on-year increase of 14.81%. A month-on-month increase of 3.41%, accounting for 9.2% of the total share, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month; textile and clothing imports from India were US$613 million, a year-on-year increase of 4.14%, a month-on-month decrease of 0.77%, accounting for 7.61% of the total share, a decrease from the previous month 0.42 percentage points.
As of April 2014, the United States had imported a total of US$32.894 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 3.23%, of which US$11.49 billion was imported from China, a year-on-year increase of 0.68%; US$3.081 billion was imported from Vietnam, a year-on-year increase of 15.51%; and US$3.081 billion was imported from Vietnam, a year-on-year increase of 15.51%. Imports of textiles and clothing were US$2.347 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.96%; textiles and clothing imports from Indonesia were US$1.838 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.11%; textiles and clothing imports from Bangladesh were US$1.778 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 0.21%; textile and clothing imports from Mexico were US$1.487 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 0.97%; textile and clothing imports from Pakistan amounted to US$1.006 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.44%.
