Textile and apparel exports continued to grow in April this year and gradually improved. Since the beginning of this year, textile and clothing exports have begun to pick up. The industry expects that the overall situation of textile and apparel exports this year is cautiously optimistic, and is expected to maintain a growth of 8-10%.
On the 4th, we learned from the Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles that the textile and apparel trade volume in the first four months of this year increased by nearly 7% year-on-year. The cumulative trade volume of textiles and apparel in the first four months increased by 2.5% year-on-year. It is worth mentioning that exports to the EU continued to improve in April, with the growth rate further increasing. Exports increased by 33% in that month. In the first four months, the EU surpassed other regions and became the fastest-growing major market for China’s apparel exports, with cumulative exports increasing by 15%.
Industry experts emphasize that the current export methods of textile fabric companies are too traditional and the model of relying on processing trade has not changed, making the competitiveness low and profits declining. If China’s textile foreign trade wants to become bigger and stronger, it must improve its management, innovation, brand and other aspects.
