Vietnam’s textile exports increased by %

According to a report by Vietnam Economic Times on June 3, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that Vietnam produced approximately 59.2 million square meters of mixed spinning and man-made fiber fabrics in May, a month-on-month increase of 1.4%. In the first five months, a total of 274 million square meters of such fabrics were produced, a year-on-year decrease of 4.2%; approximately 1.16 billion pieces of clothing were produced. The total export volume of the entire industry was approximately US$7.44 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17%. Huang Weiyong, vice president of Vietnam Textile Group, said that in order to welcome the cooperation opportunities brought by the signing of the TPP, more spinning companies have begun to expand production scale and reduce imports.
