Statistics Finland recently released news that the value of new orders for Finland’s manufacturing industry in March increased by 5.5% year-on-year, which was two consecutive months of growth since last year. Orders in the first quarter increased by 2.8% year-on-year. However, orders from the textile and paper industries fell.
The largest increase in new orders was in the chemical industry, which increased by 10% year-on-year; orders in the metal industry increased by 9.8%. However, orders for the textile industry decreased by 10.9%; the paper and paperboard industry decreased by 8.4%.
