Recently, German sporting goods giant Adidas will cooperate with American designer Pharrell Williams. This long-term partnership will also extend to the operation of “Bionic Yarn”, an environmentally friendly clothing company that makes products from marine plastic waste.
The first batch of Adidas original products will be launched this summer, and some of the featured bionic yarns produced by the “Swirl Project” will be used in the product design. “Project Vortex” is a non-profit project that recycles plastic waste on the coast and in the ocean into raw materials such as bionic yarn. Adidas said this is the first time it has collaborated with a designer who owns a textile company. It is understood that Pharrell Williams is also cooperating with jeans brand G-Star to create a new denim product series. The main raw materials of the products come from waste plastics in the ocean.
