According to a report on the website of South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo on April 25, clothing and groceries produced in North Korea’s Kaesong Industrial Park will enter the markets of South Korea and other countries under the brand “SISBRO”. The Kaicheng Industrial Park Enterprise Association stated on the 24th that it will launch the clothing brand “SISBRO” jointly produced by seven OEM textile companies in the park. According to the association, “SISBRO” is a compound word of “sister” and “brother”, which means “South Korean men and North women (South Korean men are handsome, North Korean women are beautiful)”, symbolizing that “the people of the North and the South are all brothers and sisters.”
The manufacturer will first produce products such as jackets, shirts, jeans, underwear, socks and ordinary footwear. In the future, it also plans to produce outdoor products and develop comprehensive clothing brands. In addition to the “SISBRO” trademark, its products will also have the words “Made in Peace” printed on them.
The association will launch the “SISBRO” product for the first time at the “Global Business Plaza”, an export fair for small, medium and medium-sized enterprises, held at the Korea International Exhibition Center in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do on the 29th.
