In January 2022/23, India exported 63,600 tons of cotton yarn (under HS: 5205), a month-on-month increase of 36.77% and a year-on-year decrease of 42.60%. In 2022/23 (August-January), 244,100 tons of cotton yarn were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 64.81%.
The main exporting countries and export volume proportions of Indian cotton yarn in 2022/23 (August-January) are as follows: 89,700 tons were exported to Bangladesh, a year-on-year decrease of 67.52% , accounting for 36.75%; exports to China were 20,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 83.88%, accounting for 8.40%.
