Recently, Jianchuan County, Dali, Yunnan Province, introduced sericulture varieties from Tongxiang, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, and tried planting them in Mingyu Agricultural Manor, taking a new step in industrial optimization.
Jianchuan County actively explores the development of the sericulture industry, further optimizes the structure of the county’s planting industry, focuses on cultivating characteristic industries, helps develop “one village, one product”, promotes the prosperity of rural revitalization industries, and effectively increases people’s income. In the key work arrangements for 2022 proposed in the county government work report, the goal and task of “implementing the action to improve the characteristic planting and breeding industry and developing more than 50,000 acres of characteristic cash crops such as apples, Chinese medicinal materials, and sericulture” was clarified. The Agricultural Office of the County Party Committee established a leading group for the sericulture planting and breeding project business. Through on-the-spot investigation and research in Heqing County and Xiangyun County, the sericulture industry cultivation technology was studied, and work ideas were put forward to select sericulture varieties suitable for cultivation and introduce sericulture seedlings in a timely manner. After layers of screening, four sericulture varieties that currently perform well in Yunnan Province were finally introduced from Tongxiang, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, namely the grafted seedlings “Nongsang No. 14”, “Qiangsang No. 5”, “Ligustrum Mulberry” and solid seedlings “Hybrid mulberry” seedlings were planted on January 20 at Mingyu Agricultural Manor, the industrial experimental demonstration base of the County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau.
In the next step, the Jianchuan County Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau’s special class for sericulture trial planting will organize professional and technical personnel to conduct regular full-process tracking, monitoring and management of sericulture trial varieties, cultivate excellent varieties, and then promote planting in suitable areas of the county, focusing on Expand new ways to increase people’s income.
