Reporters learned from Quanzhou Customs that Quanzhou’s textile and apparel exports maintained rapid growth in 2013, with a total export of US$6.53 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36.5%, accounting for 28.4% of Fujian Province’s textile and apparel export value during the same period, higher than the province’s textile and apparel exports. Exports increased by approximately 14 percentage points. Among them, exports of clothing were US$5.06 billion, an increase of 35.3%; exports of textile yarn were US$1.47 billion, an increase of 41%.
It is understood that the current main export markets of Quanzhou’s textile and clothing are the EU, ASEAN, and Africa, with exports of US$1.5 billion, US$1.36 billion, and US$700 million respectively. The three markets have a year-on-year growth of more than 30%, among which the ASEAN market The strongest performance, with year-on-year growth of 65.6%. General trade dominates, with private enterprises exporting more than 60%, with exports amounting to US$4.05 billion, an increase of 58.8%.
