U.S. imports of textiles and clothing billions of dollars

In December 2013, the total value of textile and apparel imports into the United States was US$7.743 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.45% and a month-on-month decrease of 3.53%. This is the traditional off-season. Among them, textile and clothing imports from China were US$3.002 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.46%, a month-on-month decrease of 6.29%, accounting for 38.77% of the total import share of the United States, a decrease of 1.15 percentage points from the previous month; textile and clothing imports from Vietnam were US$679 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.16%. An increase of 0.11% month-on-month, accounting for 8.77% of the total share, an expansion of 0.32 percentage points from the previous month; textile and clothing imports from India were US$478 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.68%, a month-on-month increase of 2.58%, accounting for 6.17% of the total share, an expansion from the previous month 0.36 percentage points.
In 2013, the total value of textile and apparel imports into the United States was US$104.725 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.76%. Among them, the value of textile and clothing imports from China was US$41.674 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.69%; the textile and clothing imports from Vietnam were US$8.772 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.59%; the textile and clothing imports from India were US$6.299 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.84%; the textile imports from Indonesia were US$6.299 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.84%. The value of clothing imports was US$5.23 billion, a year-on-year increase of 0.63%; the textile and clothing imports from Bangladesh were US$5.105 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.46%; the textile and clothing imports from Mexico were US$4.651 billion, a year-on-year increase of 0.47%; the textile and clothing imports from Pakistan were US$3.052 billion.
