It was recently learned from the Shaoxing Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that starting from March 1, textile fabrics, clothing and other products exported to Yemen from Keqiao District will be inspected before container shipment.
This new policy is to implement the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the supervision of import and export commodities signed by our country and the Yemeni government on September 13, 2013. To this end, the Shaoxing Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminds local production enterprises, import and export agents, shipping companies, cargo assembly units and other trade relations parties to make timely preparations to avoid the backlog of goods, port delays and returned shipments.
In this new policy, the scope of products for pre-shipment inspection is all industrial products exported to Yemen. The inspection content includes verification and spot inspection of product quality and performance test reports, inspection of product appearance, quantity and labeling, and verification of cargo certificate compliance. and monitor loading; the inspection standards are first Yemeni standards, secondly Chinese standards, and finally international standards. The main purpose of implementing pre-shipment inspection is to combat counterfeit and shoddy goods imported and exported, and to strengthen inspection, supervision and administrative penalty measures.
According to reports, Yemen has always been the main international market for Keqiao District’s foreign trade enterprises to explore Arab countries. The latest data shows that 161 companies in Keqiao District had trade relations with Yemen last year, and the export value reached US$17.84 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%. The main export products were textile fabrics, clothing, mechanical and electrical products, etc.
