In December 2013, Pakistan exported US$1.262 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 19.2% and a month-on-month increase of 25.1%. Among them, the export of raw cotton was US$26.89 million, a year-on-year increase of 182.18%, and a month-on-month decrease of 11.61%.
As of December, in the 2013/14 fiscal year (2013.7-2013.12), Pakistan’s textile and apparel exports were US$6.962 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.76%; its raw cotton exports were US$138.86 million, a year-on-year increase of 77.2%.
In December, Pakistan exported 59,600 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%, which was the fourth consecutive year-on-year decrease this year; a month-on-month increase of 37.52%, an increase of 16,300 tons from the previous month. The export of cotton cloth was 150 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 14.68%, finally ending the previous four consecutive year-on-year declines; the month-on-month increase was 28.97%.
As of December, in the 2013/14 fiscal year (2013.7-2013.12), Pakistan exported 352,700 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year decrease of 3.46%; it exported 869 million square meters of cotton cloth, a year-on-year decrease of 3.05%.
