On March 18, the 2022 spring sericulture technology training in Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province started. Rao Jiandong, deputy head of the county government, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The county’s sericulture technicians, the leaders of the “one leader, three participants” sericulture base and the leaders of small silkworm factories participated in the training.
At the opening ceremony, Rao Jiandong emphasized on how to develop the sericulture industry and promote high yields and increase incomes of sericulture farmers: we must raise awareness and cherish opportunities. We need to be new farmers in the modern sericulture industry who understand technology and are educated, and explore and adapt to the new model of planting mulberry and raising sericulture in Xiushui County. Apply what you have learned to ensure practical results. We should focus on the development requirements and innovative ideas of the sericulture industry, learn with humility, inspire each other, continuously strengthen communication and exchange, and develop professional talents who love and understand sericulture. It is necessary to develop in scale and improve quality. It is necessary to manage the sericulture base with high quality, promote the large-scale development of the base, increase the yield of mulberry leaves, increase the yield of seeds, and improve the quality of cocoons; it is necessary to speed up the circulation of abandoned mulberry orchards , making key sericulture towns, professional villages, family farms, large planting and breeding households, professional cooperatives and enterprises the main force in consolidating and developing the sericulture industry.
This training invited Wang Junwen, chief expert of Jiangxi Province’s sericulture industry technology system and deputy director of Jiangxi Province’s Sericulture and Tea Research Institute, Wang Chunquan, an expert in mulberry breeding and cultivation of Jiangxi Province’s sericulture industry technology system, and senior agronomist of the County Sericulture Industry Service Center Liang Cai and senior agronomist Lu Peng gave lectures.
