In April, Pakistan exported textiles and clothing to US$1.739 billion, a month-on-month increase of 7.02%, and a year-on-year increase of 30.03%; exports of cotton yarn were 24,400 tons, a month-on-month increase of 6.94%, a year-on-year decrease of 28.66%; exports Cotton cloth was 33 million square meters, a month-on-month decrease of 0.03% and a year-on-year increase of 1.32%.
In the 2021/22 fiscal year (July 2021-April 2022), Pakistan’s exports of textiles and clothing reached US$15.973 billion, a year-on-year increase of 25.80%, accounting for total merchandise exports 60.90% of the total; exported 281,700 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year decrease of 13.45%; exported 362 million square meters of cotton cloth, a month-on-month decrease of 64.75%.
