Romania-insider reported on April 14 that Swedish clothing giant H&M’s supply chain spans the world. There are 11 companies in Romania with a total of more than 30 factories supplying it. The cumulative turnover of these companies exceeds 900 million lei (approximately 200 million euros), creating 11,500 jobs. Most of the above-mentioned garment processing enterprises are concentrated in the east and south of Romania. Due to the limitations of transportation infrastructure in the above-mentioned areas, logistics costs are high and wages are low compared with EU countries.
