According to a report by Turkey’s “Le Monde” on April 24, Turkey’s trade protectionism has been on the rise since 2014, and the number of trade remedy investigations and trade remedy measures initiated by the government has increased year by year. In 2016, the Turkish government issued a total of 56 trade remedy-related communiqués, the highest number in history. Currently, Turkey has 164 trade remedy measures in effect, of which 157 are anti-dumping and countervailing measures, 7 are safeguard measures, and 59 involve China. In terms of industry distribution, the textile, metal mining, and plastics industries are at the forefront.
