According to a report by Vietnam’s “Economic Times” on April 26: In order to promote regular trade exports to China, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade is expediting the relevant procedures for setting up a trade promotion office in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. This will be Vietnam’s second trade promotion office in China after the Chongqing Trade Promotion Office, and will help Vietnamese companies expand trade exports to East China through formal trade channels.
At the “2017 Vietnam-China (Zhejiang) Trade and Investment Symposium” held on April 25, the Trade Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam revealed that Vietnam’s exports to China increased by 28.4% year-on-year in 2016, while imports from China only increased 0.9%, the first year-on-year decrease in the trade deficit with China since 2004. In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam’s exports to China increased by 47.7% year-on-year, imports from China increased by 19.5%, and bilateral trade volume increased significantly.
