On January 10, 2022, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to launch a 337 investigation (investigation code: 337-TA-1289) into Certain Knitted Footwear.

On December 8, 2021, Nike, Inc. of Beaverton, Oregon filed a Section 337 investigation application with the U.S. ITC, claiming that exports to the United States, imports in the United States, and The product sold in the United States infringes its patent rights (U.S. registered patent numbers 9,918,511, 9,743,705, 8,266,749, 7,814,598, 9,060,562, 8,898,932) and requests the U.S. ITC to issue a limited exclusion order and prohibition order.

Adidas AG of Germany, adidas North America, Inc. of the United States, and adidas America, Inc. of the United States are the named defendants.

The U.S. International Trade Commission will determine the end period of the investigation within 45 days after the case is filed. Unless vetoed by the U.S. Trade Representative for policy reasons, the relief order issued by the U.S. International Trade Commission in Case 337 takes effect from the date of issuance and has final effect on the 60th day after the date of issuance.
