In the week of April 19-26, cotton prices in India fell slightly, while cotton yarn prices remained strong. In terms of exports, in order to improve demand for the Chinese market, the export price of cotton yarn from India to China has been significantly reduced.
It is understood that last week, Indian cotton prices gradually dropped, running counter to the slight increase in international cotton prices, narrowing the price difference with international cotton prices. The FOB price of 30S pure cotton yarn fell by 2 cents/kg to US$3.23/kg, and the FOB price of 30S blended yarn fell by 5 cents/kg to US$2.85/kg. The export price to the Chinese market fell by about 8 cents/kg.
Since the current cotton price remains at a relatively high level and the rupee is also appreciating against the RMB, any fall in yarn prices will lead to a decline in the profits of Indian textile companies.
