On May 5, 2017, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) and DGFA Inc. jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made women’s scarves.

The recalled product is DG fashion fringed women’s scarf. The scarf measures 78 inches long by 27 inches wide, has a slightly shiny finish and is available in black gold, blue, green, purple, gold and burgundy. Composition is 70% silk and 30% polyester.

About 200 pieces of the recalled products were sold in the Amazon.com online store from June 2015 to September 2017. The unit price is approximately US$10~21. The reason for the recall is that the product does not meet the requirements of the “Flammability Standards for Apparel and Textiles” of the U.S. Federal Regulations and poses a risk of burns. So far, no reports of accidents or personal injuries related to this product have been received.

The U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact the company for a full refund. DGFA and Amazon will directly contact consumers who have purchased the product. The United States implements a voluntary recall of Chinese-made women’s scarves
