In the 2021/22 fiscal year, Pakistan’s textile and clothing revenue increased steadily year-on-month in September. Textile and clothing exports reached US$1.487 billion, a month-on-month increase of 1.67% and a year-on-year increase of 24.98%; exports of cotton yarn 28,900 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 12.07%, a year-on-year increase of 13.51%; cotton exports were 46 million square meters, a month-on-month increase of 4.91%, a year-on-year decrease of 77.85%.
The export volume of yarn, fabrics, knitwear, bedding and ready-made garments in September was US$1.224 billion, a month-on-month increase of 1.66%. In September, yarn exports were US$95 million, down 8.65% from the previous month, and up 72.72% year-on-year; cotton exports were US$189 million, up 0.53% from the previous month; knitwear exports were US$388 million, up 6.59% from the previous month; bedding exports were US$2.75 billion US dollars, a month-on-month increase of 3.77%; garment exports were 276 million US dollars, a month-on-month decrease of 2.82%.
In the 2021/22 fiscal year (July-September 2021), Pakistan exported US$4.421 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 27.40%; it exported 90,600 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year increase of 27.40%. An increase of 14.13%.
