In the past week, the price of cotton yarn in Pakistan fell, ending the previous sharp rise. 30S carded yarn fell by 1.96% in a single week due to insufficient downstream demand. At the same time, the decline in international cotton prices has also prompted cotton mills to lower their quotations.
That week, the price of US cotton imported into Pakistan was 105.75 cents/pound, and the spot price in Karachi was stable at 13,800 rupees/maund, mainly due to tight domestic supply.
In the past week, the prices of cotton yarn, blended yarn, and polyester-viscose yarn in India were stable, while the price of chemical fiber yarn increased. Domestic cotton yarn prices of various counts are stable, with only a few yarn mills lowering their quotations to digest stocks.
Indian cotton yarn export prices weakened that week due to sluggish demand. Cotton prices rose slightly due to the decline in purchasing demand from domestic yarn mills before new flowers were launched.
