According to a report by Financial Express on July 13, officials said that the Bangladesh government has decided to reduce the tax rate at source for clothing, its main export product, from the 1.0% stipulated in the 2017/18 fiscal year budget to 2016/ 0.7% in FY17. The chairman of the National Board of Revenue (National Board of Revenue), the tax authority of Bangladesh, confirmed the news and said that relevant tax rules will be introduced in the near future based on government decisions.
