On October 11-12, the purchase price of machine-picked cotton in Northern Xinjiang was 5.5-5.6 yuan/kg (40% clothing content, “Double 12” standard), and the listed prices of some processing companies in Kuitun, Changji and other places It rose to 5.8-5.9 yuan/kg, and the purchase price of 42% and above top grain seed cotton exceeded 6.0 yuan/kg (the company’s maximum price limit is 6.1-6.2 yuan/kg). Up to now, the market volume of machine-picked cotton in the three major cotton areas in southern Xinjiang is relatively low, and most companies are in trial harvesting and rolling. The purchase price of machine-picked cotton is 5.2-5.5 yuan/kg (40% clothing content, less than 12% moisture).
Judging from the survey, due to different levels of epidemics in various states, different prevention and control policies, inconsistent restrictions on regional mobility, and the large number of cotton brokers, the purchase price of seed cotton has been quite different. In early October, large cotton companies launched the 2022/23 Xinjiang cotton basis difference bidding sales model, with delivery periods concentrated in November and December. Some small processing companies still adopt “pre-sale” at a fixed price, and the quotation for 3128/3129 grade machine-picked cotton is still 14,200-14,500 yuan/ton (delivery from late October to early November). Due to factors such as the tightening of epidemic prevention and control, the extension of the seed cotton harvest and delivery period, and the decline in cotton seed sales prices, most pre-sale companies are living within their means, and there are fewer overdraft purchases.
