On April 24, 2009, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on “Yonchen” brand plush toys produced in China. The country notifying this case is Spain. The plush toys involved in this notification are in the shape of puppies and bears, and the barcode number is 8420068807007. The outer packaging is a plastic bag with a label indicating the importer’s information and indicating that it is suitable for children over 3 years old.
Since the nose part of this toy is easy to fall off, it does not comply with the EU Toys Directive and related standards EN71. If swallowed by children, it may cause suffocation.
At present, Spanish customs has refused to import this product.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
