Delta Apparel Inc., located in Duluth, Georgia, USA, announced that the company will close its textile production plant in Fayetteville (North Carolina) and its production will be consolidated into the company’s location in North Carolina. The M.J. Soffe factory in the Maiden region of the state and the Ceiba textile factory in Honduras. The merger, which will affect 107 employees at the Fayetteville plant, will close in June 2009 and will result in savings of $1 million a year after completion.
The M.J. Soffe facility will continue to employ approximately 550 employees at the Fayetteville facility, including sewing, printing, packaging, distribution and product and art development, as well as administrative and sales personnel.
