On June 16, 2017, Health Canada and KreativeKids, Inc. jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s bathrobes.
The recalled product is a 100% polyester hooded bathrobe with long sleeves, a waistband, a cinch back and two front pockets. Available in sizes 4~6 and 7~9, the following styles are available: Purple Elephant, Lion, Pink Bear, Ladybug, Blue Puppy, Duck, Monkey and Cat Princess. The product number 2013NW081 and the words “KreativeKids” are printed on the washable label.
500 units of the recalled product were sold in Canada from September 2013 to April 2017. The reason for the recall is that the above-mentioned children’s bathrobes do not meet the flammability requirements of Canadian law on children’s pajamas and may cause burns to children. As of June 9, 2017, Health Canada and KreativeKids, Inc. have not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
Health Canada advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled products and contact KreativeKids for a full refund. Canada implements voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s bathrobes
