According to Vietnam’s “Economic Times” report, the Vietnam Shoe Leather Association predicts that Vietnam’s footwear exports will reach US$660 million in the last two months of 2008, plus footwear exports in the first 10 months of 3.75 billion US dollars. In 2008 Footwear exports will reach US$4.4 billion.
It is reported that although Vietnam’s exports have encountered difficulties due to the impact of the global economic crisis, Vietnam’s exports of shoes to Australia, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and other countries remained relatively stable in the last few months before the end of 2008 compared with 2007. The growth momentum is quite high in 2007 (Vietnam’s footwear exports earned less than 4 billion US dollars in foreign exchange in 2007).
It is reported that Vietnam’s footwear export plan in 2008 is US$4.5 billion.
