According to Thailand’s “World Journal”, Wilo, president of the Thai Textile Industry Association, said that despite facing global economic and financial difficulties, the country’s textile industry is expected to have an annual export volume of approximately US$7.7 billion, an increase of 10%. As Europe and the United States strictly control the import of Chinese goods, Wilo believes that Thailand’s textile exports will benefit from it, and it also needs to continue to explore export markets such as ASEAN, Japan, South Korea, and China.

Wilo also said that the current domestic textile industry labor force is about 700,000-800,000 people, and there is still a labor gap of about 30,000 people, so there will be no layoffs. A total of more than 180 textile factories have been closed since 2008, and about 190 have been newly established.
