Vietnam’s textile exports to ASEAN countries increase

According to statistics released by the Economic and Trade Information Center under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, Vietnam’s textile exports to ASEAN countries in the first eight months of 2008 were approximately more than 100 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%. In August 2008, Vietnam’s textile exports to ASEAN countries were approximately US$16.2 million, an increase of 9.7% over the previous month and an increase of 16.72% over the same period in 2007. Among them, exports to Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand grew fastest, exports to the Philippines grew slowly, and exports to Singapore declined.
