KOUEFATI company is the largest clothing company in Syria and has now closed down. The amount of the company’s liabilities was not clearly announced, but local media speculated that it was 1 billion Syrian pounds (approximately US$21 million).
At present, the KOUEFATI family has fled Syria, probably in France and Italy, but their specific whereabouts are unknown. KOUEFATI is the largest company in Syria that produces children’s clothing and jeans, with a total of 1,400 employees and 300 direct-operated and distribution stores in Syria and the region.
