On October 24, 2008, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made “Seagull” brand girls’ hooded sports tops. The notifying country in this case is Hungary. The sports top notified this time is size S, the style/model is CSQ-662, and the barcode number is 1000108735018.
Because the hood of the sports top is equipped with a knotted drawstring, once a child wraps it around his or her neck, there is a risk of suffocation. This product does not comply with the relevant EU standard EN14682.
At present, the Hungarian authorities have ordered the product to be withdrawn from the market and recalled.
Therefore, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
