Xinglong Tannery’s products account for % of Uzbekistan’s market share

In 2006, Wenzhou Ouhai Shoe Company established a processing enterprise, Xinglong Tannery, in Yangeyur City, Tashkent Prefecture, Uzbekistan. It purchases 300,000 pieces of livestock skins in Uzbekistan every year and processes 1,500 pieces of leather every day ( One piece of cowhide can be tanned into two pieces), with an annual output value of US$3.8 million.

According to statistics from the Uzbekistan Leather Industry Association, the blue leather processed by this factory accounts for 70% of the market share in Uzbekistan, and most of the products are sold back to China as raw materials for shoemaking.

The factory covers an area of ​​about 55 acres and has 30 Chinese workers and 80 local workers. According to our office, since the wages paid to local workers by the factory are slightly higher than the standards of other local companies, it has cultivated a stable team of skilled technicians and provided employment for more than 100 local people.

At present, Wenzhou Ouhai Shoe Company is preparing to expand investment and build a leather processing and shoemaking complex with an annual processing capacity of 600,000 livestock skins and 4 million pairs of shoes.
