On October 14, the Anti-dumping Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India informed our office in a letter that the Bureau had initiated an anti-dumping investigation on linen fabrics exported to India from China and Hong Kong on October 3.
The applicant for the investigation is Jaya Shree Textiles, which is also supported by seven other Indian companies; the product involved is woven fabrics with a linen content of more than 30%, and the customs code is 53.09; the investigation period is from April 1, 2007 to March 2008 31st.
According to Chinese customs statistics, in 2007, China exported US$20.21 million of the products involved in the case to India.
